Dipl. Kfm. Wolfgang Möwius founded his company in 1984, while he was studying Business Administration. The company developed successfully in the market and was converted to today’s MÖWIUS GmbH in 1991.
To this day, MÖWIUS is owner-managed and can now look back on more than 35 years of experience in the field of personal health and safety. With its extensive market and industry knowledge, the company is a reliable partner for system delivery. The development of the Shop In Factory concept enabled the entry into the C-parts management in the year 2000. Since then we offer our customers the possibility of an efficient and cost-saving procurement of their C-parts with the shop in factory concept.
In 2004, the renowned Walter Döring Technik GmbH & Co. KG was acquired, which extends our product range to the areas of auto parts, tools and rolling and ball bearings. Our sister company has 50 years of industry knowledge and experience in technical trading, completing our expertise.
Our clearly defined corporate goals are responsible for our steady growth. In addition to employee welfare, a high quality of service and a continuous further development, a high customer satisfaction belongs to our corporate goals.
Thanks to our continued growth, we were able to expand our office- and warehouse space at our main location to 2.500m². We supply around 2,500 customers in- and outside of Germany and have created our own, innovative MÖWIUS products. In addition to our main warehouse in Hamburg, we can also call on our logistics partners to use decentralized storage units throughout Germany.

During his studies of business administration, Wolfgang Möwius founded his individual company for safety and health articles in 1984. The company established itself on the market and was converted in 1991 into today’s Möwius GmbH.

Immediately with her training in technical trade in 1995, Birgit Hansen is firmly rooted in the industry. She has been shaping Möwius GmbH since 2002 and accompanies key account customers as a trained specialist consultant for personal protective equipment.

Since 2004, Petra Kuhaupt has been involved in our company with her extensive knowledge of process management and IT. She started in order processing, is a consultant for PPE and knows the work of our major customers. She has experienced her start in e-commerce as a project manager in a start-up and still benefits today from her knowledge and skills.

Welf Behrens made his first sale of dungarees from Kansas at the age of 12 at the Tarmstedter exhibition. He has over 25 years professional experience in the field of PPE and technical articles, is a certified consultant for PPE by the VTH and certified consultant for Dräger gas detection equipment. Welf Behrens is our specialist for difficult problems, be they very small or very large sizes or particularly hard working environments.

Corporate Development
After completing his apprenticeship as a merchant in wholesale and foreign trade and a business economist in foreign trade, Kasimir Möwius worked for another year in his training company. While working, he completed a degree. In 2016, Kasimir Möwius moved to MÖWIUS GmbH, where he initially went through the different areas as a trainee. Today, he is responsible for corporate development, with digitization playing a central role.
